TRUCK CAMPER

I’ve been living in vehicles since 2014, starting in a Honda Element, upgrading to an ’85 VW Westy, and in 2018 moving into a 4×4 off-road equipped Toyota Tacoma. In 2019 I added the luxurious comfort of a slide-in pop-up truck camper. I spent 5 months remodeling the camper to create a comfortable space with a cabover bed, storage, kitchen with a 3 burner gas stove, refrigerator (that I don’t use), propane heater, running (hot) water, an outdoor hot shower, bike rack, outdoor gear storage, solar and more. If I could do it all over again I might build a truck camper like this on a larger truck, but I already had Terk and I learned a lot along the way. While it’s a heavy rig, all of the modifications work well together and we made it up to the Arctic Ocean on Alaska’s Dalton Highway in comfort.
