HONDA ELEMENT

After returning from my Appalachian Trail thru-hike in 2012 I felt the deep need to own less. Eventually I moved out of my apartment, crashed on friend’s couches, and gave away or donated most of my possessions. In the summer of 2014 I moved into my first home on wheels, a custom built camper inside a 2006 Honda Element that I called The Silver Bullet. It might looks small but the camper had a closet, 3 clothes drawers, lots of storage, a kitchen on the tailgate, and All Wheel Drive to get me out of the city in into new adVANtures. I spent most every weekend that year driving around Southern California exploring National Parks, BLM land, and more. The Silver Bullet was a great, dependable home on wheels, plus it was very incognito making stealth camping in town during the week super easy.
